CLET is a French artist, born in 1966, and raised in the region of Brittany. After studying fine arts at the École des Beaux-arts of Rennes, he decided to settle in Florence, Italy, where he is currently living. Mostly dedicated to painting and sculpture, CLET’s aim is to directly communicate and interact with the largest audience possible. Therefore, his wish is to exhibit his artwork in the most accessible and viewable place: the streets. CLET diverts the meaning of the road signs by adding stickers, without altering its main sense – with a certain predilection for the “no entry” sign. CLET has found a ludic way to make the citizen think and react to a routine to which he does not pay attention anymore. CLET’s urban installations tend also to question the authority, by indirectly criticizing the imposition of rules.
