Brigitte is a French band based in Paris and formed by Aurélie et Sylvie. The band released a brillant debut album in 2011 “Et vous, tu m’aimes?”.
Their new album will come out this fall and the duo will tour in October, they will be performing La Cigale on November 19th.



1/ Favorite Destination ?
Aurélie:I like cities, their energy, their power, i like when it’s very busy…so i would say New-York, Tokyo, Istanbul, Beyrouth, Tel Aviv. Tel Aviv is a city that i particularly like. I like its paradoxes, its crazyness, its youth, its melting pot and the fact that it’s super open minded. It’s a city that never sleeps.
Sylvie:Ouch, it’s tough as i have many favorite…Corsica, where i have the impression of being at home, i love the north, Cape Corsica, i like its wild and isolated side. The Reunion Island where i feel home and it’s always special when i hear stories about my family from my aunts. And Italy…perhaps i felt home there in an other life.

2/ Best thing to do there?
Aurélie:The cuisine makes me crazy over there. There is such a blend of culture, Ethiopia, Middle East, Asia, India and Occident. Chefs are really young and trying some crazy fine and inventive stuff.
Sylvie: In corsica, drawing on the grey sand with a wood stick on Nonza’s beach and eat an icecream as a reward as the climb is high!


3/ Best tip to travel ?
Aurélie: I like travelling alone, i think it’s the best way to discover a city and people living there.
Sylvie: Travel light!

4/ Best / Worst travel memories ?
Aurélie: I have too many incredible travel souvenirs, i go with the flow. I like getting lost in the streets of New-York, sleeping at peoples’s place i don’t know in Nashville or Chicago and then going to see shows at Lolapaluzza. I like sleepless night in Tel Aviv, watching old people doing Yoga on the beach at 6am. I have amazing memories from beaches in Assinie in Ivory Coast at sunset. In the new Brigitte album that we are recording right now, there is a song about my New-York souvenirs.
Sylvie: Not realizing what was happening to me during my first headache in Bali, being sick in paradise, i don’t recommend it.

5/ Next trip ?
Aurélie: Nothing planned right now as the album is just starting…in the mean time the previous album took us to South East Asia so we will see where the new one brings us.
Sylvie: My daughter absolutely wants to go back to California as her souvenirs are blurred, she was 6 when we went there. But with the release of the new album, the tour, it’s going to be complicated. She also wants to go to London and my husband to Portugal! Nothing planned yet except touring! That’s a long journey as well!


Brigitte’s new album will come out in October 2014 and they will be performing live at La Cigale on November 19th.
