LA MAISON DE L'ART BERBERE
The boucherouite, called "underpant-rugs" for fun, is handmade in modest homes in rural Morocco. Berber women weave these rugs from fabric scraps recovery. Thousand cloths: cotton, nylon, synthetic or wool, are then used for making fabulous scenery. The contrast between the poverty of the material and the richness of the composition adds to the surprise and this wonderful folk art.
